In my last article, Modesty: an Old-Fashioned Fling or a Modern Thing?, I talked about why women should dress modestly with even science back it up. After this, we learned that the responsibility doesn't just fall on our shoulders, so, I would like to address the men.
First, I would like to address the fact that men are responsible for their thoughts. Rapists cannot blame the victim by saying "she provoked me by dressing in immodest clothing". Men, you need to become aware of your thoughts and not let thoughts just play through your brain. I found this quote while I was doing research for this article. Watch your thoughts. They become words. Watch your words. They become deeds. Watch your deeds. They become habits. Watch your habits. They become character. Character is everything.

Women have a responsibility to dress as modestly as they understand to be modest, but that can be a different standard for different types of women (another purpose for this blog) so men need to control their thoughts and actions. Zach Hunter from Project Inspired said that if men practiced self-control, then modesty wouldn't have to be such a big deal.
There are no excuses for rape. Women don't deserve to be raped because they dress provocatively, just like people don't deserve to be robbed because they carry a purse or wallet. People don't deserve to be murdered because their alone on the street at night. There is NO excuse.
You have the power to control your thoughts. You have the power to look away from a provocative, sexy woman. Even if a women is wearing proactive clothing, you don't have to stare. You don't have to whistle at her like she is a dog instead of a human being.
Be careful with the compliments you give women. Some "compliments" are just demeaning. I hate being whistled nor would I like to be called "sexy". You shouldn't call a woman hot, unless, of course, she's your wife. "Beautiful", "cute", and "pretty" are great compliments. Compliment women on their abilities and their intelligence.
Avoiding frontal hugs is one of the ways a man can pursue modesty and sexual purity. If you like to be affectionate to women you care about (besides your wife or sister), side-hugs are great. I always side-hug my male friends. Though, that may not be necessary for all of you. Use your judgment.
As for dressing, it isn't as easy for a man to dress immodestly, because the fashion industry seems to prefer to exploit the female's body rather than the man, however it is possible. Here are some tips on how to dress modestly for men:
· Don't wear clothing that is tight or revealing.
· Don't wear your pants hanging down low where they expose your underwear, or worse! Girls want to focus on eyes and your heart. We want to get to know you for your personality. We can't exactly do that if your pants are almost on the floor.
· Don't wear Speedos. C'mon, give us a break and leave a little to the imagination. Show us that you are a man who has respect for yourself.
· Don't wear short shorts, it's not modest for men or women. Beside the fact that they're immodest, you're bring back the time when they were popular with rebelling in the USA. That makes them immodest and dangerous.
